Parish
Nursing
We believe
God desires for us to lead whole lives spiritually,
emotionally, and physically; therefore, we value healing
prayer, recovery ministries, and Christian counsel.
Our Parish Nurses use their spiritual gifts,
abilities, and networking resources to facilitate and
promote congregational and community wholeness and health.
Parish Nursing
is a ministry of caring.
It is a movement among nurses and faith based
organizations that integrate care for a person’s body, soul,
spirit, and mind.
Based on a holistic view of patients; parish nurses
seek to practice their profession as a relational ministry
rather than as a technological skill.
Parish
Nurse
A lead parish nurse is a
registered professional nurse who is a member of the faith
community in which she or he serves.
The parish nurse collaborates with pastoral staff,
congregation members, and community health resources to meet
the health care needs of the congregation through education,
health counseling, and referral activities.
Roles of a Parish Nurse
