Music and Creative Arts Ministry

Interested in being part of the music and creative arts ministry at Davison Free Methodist Church?  There are a number of ways to get involved!  After reading about these opportunities, you can request more information or express your interest by sending an e-mail to the address linked below.

Special Music
Most Sundays during the worship service there is a special music presentation by an individual or group.  Because we are “one church of four generations”, these can be anything from contemporary to traditional to classical in style, and we have had people sing, play an instrument, and even do sign language and interpretive miming!  If you haven’t been scheduled before, the Director of Music and Creative Arts will ask to hear you before being scheduled.

Worship Team
Each week our worship music is led by committed instrumentalists and vocalists who are using their God-given gifts to bring the congregation into the presence of God.  We currently have a Praise Band whose members play each week, and three vocal teams who rotate.  To become involved with the Worship Team, we ask that you interview with the Music and Creative Arts Director, participate in monthly full-team rehearsals, and serve as a substitute team member for a period of time before joining the regular schedule.

Drama Team
One of our developing ministries is the Drama Team.  Our vision is to have strategically scheduled dramas designed to add impact to the service theme of the day.  Actors typically have two to three weeks to prepare for a 5-8 minute drama.  Rehearsals are scheduled as needed prior to the Sunday performances.

Technical Team
We are always interested in recruiting and training individuals to serve as technicians.  We are looking for individuals interested in sound, lighting, and/or multi-media.  A basic knowledge of these areas is helpful but not required.  We will train people who eagerly desire to learn!  Members of this team attend the monthly full-team rehearsals and serve on Sunday mornings for rehearsal and both services on the Sundays they are scheduled. 

Seasonal Productions
Each year special productions are scheduled to add impact to holidays such as Christmas and Easter.  These productions may utilize choir, soloists, instrumentalists, actors, and technicians.  Informational meetings are scheduled before rehearsals begin and are announced here and in Sunday morning services.                                                                Click Here for Christmas Musical Rehearsal Schedule
